Ramayana Part 2 is now set for Diwali 2028, producer confirms
Producer Namit Malhotra has said the second part of the Hindi epic Ramayana will release at Diwali 2028 rather than Diwali 2027. Kannada star Yash plays Ravana in the film.

Ramayana is a Hindi-language film, so this is not a Kannada release, but it carries Kannada interest because Yash plays Ravana and co-produces it through his banner Monster Mind Creators. The first part opened in theatres on 5 November 2026.
Around the opening, producer Namit Malhotra told an entertainment outlet that the sequel will arrive at Diwali 2028. The earlier plan was one part at Diwali 2026 and the second at Diwali 2027, so the finale moves back by a year. He said the team did not want to rush the work and wanted enough time to give the finale the same level of effort as the first part. Two outlets that reported the interview, Hollywood Reporter India and MissMalini, also say the end credits of the first part show the 2028 window.
He has also not ruled out a third film, saying the response to the first part will decide that. The makers had so far described the story as told across two parts.
