SouthSide Studio ("we", "us", "our") operates southsidestudio.in. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
Information we collect
Details you submit through our brief form — name, email, phone, film, company or brand, the service you choose, key dates, audience, asset links, who approves the creative, budget context, your role, your message and how you heard about us.
Basic usage data such as pages visited and device type, collected via standard analytics.
How we use it
To respond to your enquiry and provide our services.
To improve our website and communications.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Sharing
We may share data with trusted service providers (e.g. email and form-handling services) solely to operate our business, and where required by law.
When you send a brief through the form on this site, FormSubmit (an email form service) delivers it to our inbox, and a copy of the same details, with the page you sent it from and how you arrived at our site (for example Google or Instagram), is saved in SouthSide Studio's own staff system so our team can track and answer it, including when the form service does not confirm delivery. Only SouthSide Studio staff can see that copy; we keep it while we handle your enquiry and any work that follows, and we delete it if you ask at contact@southsidestudio.in.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read, and a small first-party script that records which page and search engine brought an enquiry. Both use cookies or similar storage in your browser.
We also use Microsoft Clarity to see how pages are used (clicks, scrolling and anonymised session replays) so we can fix pages that confuse people. Clarity hides anything you type into forms. How Microsoft handles this data is described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Parts of this site may show advertising served by Google AdSense:
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
Ads and sponsored placements are always labelled. Sponsored links carry rel="sponsored", and SouthSide's editorial film data is never changed for an advertiser.
YouTube API Services
Our internal publishing tool, SouthSide Syndicate, uses YouTube API Services to upload videos we have produced to YouTube channels we own or manage (for example @swalpa_ulta) and to read basic details of those channels. By using YouTube through our tool we are bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of the data involved is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Who uses it: only SouthSide Studio staff. The tool has no public sign-up and never accesses any third party's YouTube account or data.
What it accesses: the title, handle and id of our own channels, and the videos it uploads to them. It does not read viewer data, comments, subscriptions or watch history.
What it stores: the ids and URLs of videos it has uploaded, so it never uploads the same video twice, plus the OAuth token that authorises it. These are kept on our own systems, are not shared with anyone, and are deleted on request or when a channel is closed.
SouthSide Studio is a Kannada film marketing agency. Our staff portal uses the Meta Graph API, through our app Namma Sandalwood Insights, to report how Instagram posts made for our clients' campaigns performed.
Public post numbers: for a post on a public Instagram business or creator account, we read the numbers Instagram shows publicly for that post (likes, unless the account hides them; comments; views on Reels; reposts) through Meta's Business Discovery API. We read nothing from personal or private accounts.
Accounts that connect to us: a partner page that chooses to connect through Facebook Login lets us read its Instagram account's name, id and posts, and the insights of those posts (views, reach, likes, comments, saves, shares and interactions), plus the name and id of the Facebook Page linked to it. We never post, comment, send messages, or read messages, follower details or ad accounts.
What we store: the post links our client or staff upload, the numbers read for them, and, for connected accounts, the access token (encrypted), the account and Page ids and names, and the app-scoped id of the person who connected. Nothing else about that person.
Who sees it: SouthSide Studio staff, and the client whose campaign the post was part of, in that campaign's report. We do not sell this data or share it with anyone else, and we do not use it for advertising.
How long: campaign reports are kept for as long as the client relationship needs them. A connected account's token is deleted as soon as the connection is removed.
Stop sharing or delete: remove "Namma Sandalwood Insights" in Facebook under Settings & privacy > Settings > Business integrations, and our access stops at once. To have everything we hold about you deleted, follow the steps on our data deletion page.
Suggesting an edit. You sign in with Google. Google gives us your name, email address and Google account ID (never your password). We keep them with each edit you send, to credit you, tell you its status and prevent abuse.
What is public. Published edits, their sources, and your first name and last initial on the film's change history.
Reporting a mistake needs no account. We keep what you write and a scrambled (hashed) form of your network address, for spam protection, for 90 days.
Claiming a film. If you claim a film's page as part of its team, we keep the film's Instagram handle or the work email address you give us, the part you say you play and our decision, with your claim. We do not publish them. Other verified members of the same film's team see your first name, last initial and part.
Bot check. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person, not a bot, is sending. Cloudflare processes browser and network data to do this (Cloudflare's privacy policy).
How long we keep it. Your name and email for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account we erase both and keep your published edits without your name.
Your rights under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023: to see the data we hold about you, correct it, have it erased, and complain. Write to our grievance contact, Nithin Prakash, at contact@southsidestudio.in. We reply within 30 days.
