Upendra's upcoming movie Buddivantha 2 is set for early 2027

Producer Dr. T. R. Chandrashekar's banner, Crystal Paark Cinemas, marked Deepavali on 8 November 2026 with a new poster of Upendra in Buddivantha 2, a title also written Buddhivantha 2. He is pictured in a black hood and round mirrored glasses above a red city skyline, and the poster puts the film in cinemas in early 2027. The banner and its music label, Crystal Music, shared it on Instagram, tagging Upendra, Meghana Raj, Sonal Monteiro, Srinagar Kitty and composer Gurukiran.

The film was announced in 2019. In July 2023 the makers set a September 2023 release, which was later reported postponed, and a fresh poster followed on Upendra's birthday, 18 September 2024. Early 2027 is the window the makers now give. The title shares its name with Buddhivantha, Upendra's 2008 film directed by Ramnath Rigvedhi.

Upendra's recent releases include UI (20 December 2024), which he wrote and directed; 45 (25 December 2025), Arjun Janya's first film as director, with Shiva Rajkumar and Raj B. Shetty; Kabzaa (17 March 2023), directed by R. Chandru; and the Tamil film Coolie (14 August 2025), with Rajinikanth. His other films in the works include Bhargava, directed by Naganna, and Next Level, directed by Aravind Kaushik.

Our Namma Sandalwood pages have carried 114 posts on 45, with 1.43 crore views, 49 on UI, with 47.9 lakh views, and 18 on Coolie, with 95 lakh views. Each figure is counted post by post from Meta's API on the film's live dashboard, as we read them on 8 November 2026.
