How to brief a Telugu or Tamil film's Karnataka campaign

Telugu and Tamil film promotion in Karnataka starts with a precise release brief: which language version is releasing, where it is available and which audience the campaign should serve. Kannada-facing creative can introduce a film to a local audience while keeping the film’s original language and release facts clear.

SouthSide Studio is a Bengaluru film marketing agency operating the Namma Sandalwood Kannada film and meme network with 650+ public campaign dashboards. Our dashboards include client collaborations and our pages' own coverage. Kannada film marketing agency → · Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi films in Karnataka → · Case studies →

Separate film language from promotion language

Specify whether the Karnataka release is the original Telugu or Tamil version, a Kannada dub or several versions. List the approved title spelling for each version and the trailers, posters and songs available for it. A Kannada caption describes the promotion’s language; it does not establish that a Kannada screening or dub exists.

Include the distribution contact who can confirm local details. When the release plan is provisional, keep that status visible in the working brief. It is easier to revise a draft calendar than correct a published announcement that has already implied the wrong version, date or venue.

Choose the audience before the page mix

Divide the brief by audience need: existing fans looking for release information, viewers discovering the story and people considering a nearby screening. The same film may need an actor-led announcement for one group and a clear genre hook for another. Choose pages and creators for those jobs rather than assuming that every film needs the same network list.

Decide whether the immediate priority is Bengaluru or a broader Karnataka release, and ask what audience evidence the proposed publishers can provide. Record the limits of that evidence. A Kannada page’s followers may be relevant, but a follower count cannot confirm where a future post’s viewers will be or which version they will choose.

Adapt the hook while preserving the film

Give the creative team an approved short synopsis, character names and pronunciation notes. Identify scenes, dialogue or songs that can be used and any spoiler restrictions. Kannada copy should explain why the moment is interesting without changing its meaning. Ask a reviewer familiar with the supplied material to check both the copy and its context.

Keep the film title, original language and official asset destination consistent across a meme, a creator post and a release reminder. A locally familiar situation can make a post approachable, but the connection to the film should remain easy to recognize. Translation, dubbing, subtitling and new filming are separate production tasks: establish which are needed and who supplies them.

Connect attention to confirmed availability

Put the official trailer or song link in the plan before publishing a launch post. For release reminders, confirm the date, language version and destination with the release team. For a city-specific event, check the venue, access information and any booking requirements. Make the next action appropriate to the moment rather than placing a ticket link on every creative.

If a booking link or local listing is not ready, schedule an update after confirmation. Do not create a theatre list from an assumed statewide release. Assign responsibility for correcting changes in availability, and keep that person in the approval route during release week.

Review relevant evidence and agree on measurement

Ask for examples of non-Kannada films promoted or covered for Kannada audiences. Inspect the actual posts and confirm whether each example was client collaboration or the publisher’s own coverage. SouthSide’s Karnataka release promotion page links to relevant public dashboards with those labels; a portfolio film is not automatically a client endorsement.

Agree on the delivered-post list, observation date, formats and reported metrics before work starts. Keep social response separate from booking or box-office outcomes unless the campaign has a documented way to connect them. The measurement guide explains that distinction. Send the version, local release plan and approved assets when discussing the scope.
